This is a competition of ecological projects for school students of any age. It embraces Ecology, Geography, and many other co-disciplines. Importantly, you should use remote sensing data (satellite images) in your research project.
Do you care about global warming in Antarctica and deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest? Are you willing to learn about oceans and the state of the atmosphere? Do you study all the natural sciences with pleasure? Would you like to create your own project in this field? The Ecoview competition is definitely for you!
Here you will not only compete with other children from all over the world, but you will also take interesting courses about the ways to work with satellite images offered by the JAS Laboratory of Geoinformation Systems and Remote Sensing of the Earth and partners.

To challenge yourself, get a deeper understanding and knowledge of natural sciences, and present your own research project. You will learn how to use satellite- and aircraft-based technologies, detect objects on Earth, analyze space images, find and work with the information about the environment, analyze it, and use it in scientific projects.

The International competition of ecological projects “Ecoview” takes place annually and involves three stages. Students enrolled in grades 1-12 of general and out-of-school educational institutions can participate.

At the first stage, you should fill in an online questionnaire linked here and send your project with media files attached to this email: [email protected].

At the second stage the jury of the competition will evaluate all the projects and choose the finalists. You will be immediately informed about the result by the organizational committee.
The third stage is the presentation of the projects during final online event. After that, the jury will select the winners.

At the first stage, you can receive 100 points maximum.

Stage II
Relevance of the project topic — 10;
Environmental component of the project — 10;
Skills in working with remote sensing — 15;
Visual support of the project — 10;
Procedure — 30;
Project conclusions — 25;

Total number of scores for stage II — 100

The second stage also may be rated by 100 points maximum but the are different:

Stage III
Completeness of research topic disclosure — 20;
Logic and analysis of the presented material — 25;
Defence of the project — 30;
Culture of discussion — 25;

Total number of scores for stage III — 100.
