This is the largest JAS competition, where you will prove your knowledge of history, astronomy, ecology, and technology to the whole country, as well as train logical and critical thinking.

"Junior Historian" is for those who can easily list all Ukrainian hetmans in the right order, remember the chronology of the Ukrainian revolution, and explain how the Eneolithic period differs from the Bronze Age.
"Junior Astronomer" is for those who look at the map of the starry sky more often than at Google Maps, and who know that "dark matter" and "the Kuiper belt" are not as complicated as they seem.
"Junior Engineer" is for those who are familiar with all the scientists whose portraits hang in the physics classroom and who can easily solve logic problems.
"Junior Ecologist" is for you if instead of flipping through the social media feed, you like to study animals and birds, take care of plants, and sort garbage.

You will:

• deepen your knowledge in the field you are passionate about and show it to the whole country;
• train and gain experience before creating your own STEAM project;
• join the all-Ukrainian scientific community and find like-minded people.

The All-Ukrainian open interactive competition "JAS - Junior Erudite" is held annually in 3 categories, namely for 5-7, 8-9, and 10-11 grades of general secondary and extracurricular education. The only exception is the category "Junior Historian", where there is a separate direction for each class. You can decide whether to perform tasks online or offline.

You will receive a set of tests of different types. You can deal with some of them by remembering the right facts, while others will contain drawings and photos. To solve some tasks, you will also need your creativity.

During the preparation, you can find useful methodological recommendations for each category. They are published on the official website of the competition and in the popular science journal of the Junior Academy of Sciences "School of Young Scientists". Also, you will find tasks of the past years and answers to them on the website.

Tasks are evaluated using a computer program. In each category, there are 3 levels of difficulty: each correct answer at level 1 gives 3 points, at level 2 — 4 points, and at level 3 — 5 points.
There are 30 points for participation in the competition. The maximum number of points that a participant can receive is 150.

Depending on the number of points scored, all participants will receive JAS certificates of I or II degree and certificates of participation, as well as gifts with the symbols of the competition. You will also be able to participate in other JAS competitions and projects.
